April 4th, 2012
CAP is building on its momentum. More and more people are approaching the Party to get involved and fight for Canada.
Monday Caucus Meetings will begin April 9th. A caucus is a meeting of supporters of a political party. We will use these meetings to increase our member communications. Each meeting will have a specific current topic that will include CAP policy and future actions we can take about this subject.
The Topic for April 9th, 2012 meeting will be "The Budget". We will look at how interest payments that we pay on our National Debt could be better used for Government programs. The goal will be to create a press statement from this meeting.
Join the Caucus Meeting on Skype at VoteCAP - Monday April 9th, 2012 at 5:15pm Pacific Time - 8:15pm Eastern Time. If you need a call in number or are unsure how to use Skype please email me and I will accommodate your interest to take part.
I am also leading the organization committee for a CAP National Convention. A Convention is long overdue. During the last few years CAP has operated with interim positions. My place as Leader has been Interim since September 2010.
Due to travel costs, we want to make sure as many people can take part as possible. We are working to create Regional Conventions during the same weekend across Canada that all will communicate with each through technology. These Conventions are tentatively to coincide with the BOC Nationalization Anniversary of August 15th.
We are looking for nominations for the following positions:
Each National Convention shall elect a National Executive comprised as follows:
a) the president
b) four vice-presidents who will be representative of the party and of whom one will be English-speaking and one will be French-speaking
c) the secretary
d) the treasurer
and the chairs of the following standing committees:
i. Policy; ii. Organization; iii. Constitution and Legal Affairs; iv. Communications and Publicity; v. Finance, and vi. Native and Aboriginal Peoples’ Affairs.
And of course nominations for Leader of the Party.
Please send your nominations by June 1st. This will allow us time to post information on the site and allow members to contact nominees to learn more about them.
Thanks for all that you do for Canada.
